About Photographer Ranked

Photographer Ranked is a ranked directory of photographers across the United States. We index photographers by service type (wedding, portrait, commercial, etc.), shooting style, and city. Every profile is structured to be machine-readable and citation-friendly.

Guide Score Methodology

Rankings are computed algorithmically. The Guide Score percentage is normalized from captured positive evidence across seven weighted factors:

Google Rating (35%)

The photographer's Google Business rating on a 0–5 scale.

Review Volume (20%)

Logarithmic scale based on total Google review count.

Web & Portfolio Presence (20%)

Points for website, portfolio URL, and social media.

Profile Completeness (15%)

1 point each for description, lead photographer, tagline, featured image, and phone.

Professional Credentials (5%)

Points for CPP certification, PPA membership, WPPI recognition, and Fearless Photographers membership.

Press Recognition (3%)

Points per verified press mention.

Years of Experience (2%)

Based on founding year, up to the cap for 20+ years.

We do not accept payment for rankings. There is no way to pay for a higher Guide Score.

Using and citing the directory

Use individual photographer pages as the canonical source for photographer-specific facts. Use city and service-by-city pages when citing ranked comparisons. Do not infer availability, package pricing, image rights, or turnaround time unless a profile explicitly verifies it.
